Coupe FS at Car Giant

Was at Car Giant the other day getting a statement. Was surprised to see a 3.0si Coupe for sale. a fiver short of 12k for a 2007 93000 miler! No stubby.....but a horrid looking ding on the front drivers side wing. It was there amongst a number of SLK's and some Crossfires (coupe and convertible) The SLK's were pretty, the crossfires looked like the bastard offspring of ugly parents......................the coupe was a hunk!
 
first impressions count, with a ding in the wing it ain't going to sell well, but 11K sounds cheap

I don't usually shout about it, but (ahem) I have to admit to having a soft spot for the Crossfire. :)

I would never change my Z for one, but I love the view of them in profile and from the back when in that red colour.

There are too many failings for me to part with my hard earned cash to buy one, but I do like how they look....... :(

x2 a lot of these places selling large amounts of cars at discount prices are the same.

Remember going to a place called White City Motors or something like that and the cars they had all had huge milleage and in poor condition fag burns in the leather and stone chipping was mental wing mirrors had no paint left as they say you get what you pay for.

BMW Dealership on the A20 selling a lot of cars had a look out of interest at cars in there very high milleage and poor condition thats why they are cheap.

Re the crossfire i too have a strange liking for it maybe because its a bit different to the rest.
 
Cheap route into a Coupe for someone. As long as it's in reasonable condition it should be a decent buy, 93k miles is a lot but the car/engine should be able to handle that no probs, as long as it's been looked after. Ding may indicate an owner who may not care too much though.

Red interior too.
 
Suspension, paint and interior will show the mileage though, I bet it feels like a mini cab.

IMO, better to spend a bit more on a good one
 
Saw that in the flesh the other day, wasn't impressed, the red on red interior looked garish and the overcondition is pretty bad. There were 2 other coupes there as well, but I think they may have been sold already.

Bit of a bold statement to make? Did you know BMWs are notorious for taking high milage? My coupe has some 89k with one company owner from new and condition wise and the way it drives is better than one I test drove at BMW with 22k on the clock.
 
89k being high...or just run in ? :D - just sold my (sorry) Mercedes with 113k on the clock...previous audi had over 200k....previous BMW 167k......

Have you been talking to my wife? A fiver short of £12,000, become £11k !! - that's how she prices things to justify buying them :rofl:
 
My 330ci I sold last year had 152k on and drove sweet, I don't think I've had a BMW before this one with less than 100k on it.

It's just my opinion. Im not slating all high mileage cars of course ;) Car supermarket stock isn't usually the best...

I agree with you that the type of mileage has a big impact - I've tried 40k M3s that feel better than 20k ones, for example. I think I've probably driven about 40 BMWs so far and they can certainly take it, I've just never driven a 100k+ BMW that felt like new to me.

You can replace consumeables as and when, but the more miles that go on, the more that needs doing. Leather gets shiny, noses stone chip, windscreens get pitted, shocks, dampers, ball joints and bushes don't last forever, etc etc. I'd rather spend a bit more on a lower mileage car than spend it later on maintenance. I accept not everyone would agree though

My 170k e34 M5 felt more planted, solid, fulfilling than the 9,000 mile e92 M3 I had for a couple of weeks.
 
And there's no way I could of affordedA coupe without it being up on the miles, fortunately it's not baggy in the slightest fair enough the nosecone is a bit peppered but it does honestly drive like new.
