Coupe Eyeglasses Compartment (Stuck)

Had my car just short of 6 months now and this is my first problem

Today i tried to open the over-head glasses compartment, it was jammed. The only way i could open it was by giving it a good old thump, tried opening and closing it several times but each time it was jammed, the only way to open it was with force

So my question to the wise, as anybody else come across this?

I'm sure it will be something that can be sorted under warranty so i'm not overly concerned

Haven't had a problem. Sure there isn't some grit or something stuck in the hinge area?

i think if it was grit it would have come out, i've tried opening/closing it several times. I'm going to have a good look at it over the week end

just a thought, grit in my Z4 - definately not lol

Have you tried inserting the glasses upside down, with the glasses pointing to the front and the earpiece to the back? A common mistake is to use the bulge on the edge of the trap door to rest the nose piece on... but as that bulge is part of the locking mechanism, the door won't shut.
