Coupe & Convertable interchangeable headlights?

Hi all,

New to this Forum so thanks for any help!

I have a Z4 Coupe E86 (56 plate) and recently had a small accident in it! I took it to my local car body shop who can fix it no problem, but I need a new passenger side headlight unit. The local BMW dealer has quoted £470 plus VAT for a new one! I'm not too keen to spend that (along with the cost of the repair) if I can get a used one from a breaker. My headlights are not-Xenon with clear indicator light lenses. I can't find a suitable light from a Coupe anywhere, but several from Convertables. Are the headlight units interchangeable between the two models? I'm guessing that they are the same, but I don't want to buy one only to find it won't fit, so I thought I'd ask the experts!

Hi fella, welcome etc
On my mobile at the mo so no wizardry from here. I don't know the answer but you could check this, and a lot of other queries, out by visiting www.realoem.com or something like that address. You just drill down through the menus/ images and you can ascertain the parts for your car. Then you compare the part no. against the e85 no. and there's your answer.

Welcome along . Yes they appear to be interchangeable, however, ensure its a facelift unit.

From memory halogen are the same regardless off age except for the amber colour. But check the part numbers to be sure. :wink:
