Coupe buying - Thoughts on this car please?

If you do choose to buy this example.... be prepared to keep it for a long time, it’s not selling for a reason

If you like it buy it. I would however clay bar the paint and buy a DA POLISHER. you can get medium pads and use some angelwax product. You won’t go through but watch some YouTube vids.

Secondly, I would get some leather cleaner and give all the surfaces a really good clean. They are presently covered in silicon which will make it slippery and will hydrate everything very badly.

[ref]Stotts[/ref], good shout but: 1. Pressure washer rinse, 2. Foam dirt lifter the pressure rinse, 3. tar and bug as needed, 4.two bucket wash and pressure rinse, 5. fallout/iron decontamination and pressure rinse, 6. Clay bar, 7, Panel wipe and then DA Polish, ceramic coat etc...... Allow a working day. Consider Autobead and Autobrite products as a starting point, other manufacturers are available of course.

Personally, and I think everyone has their own process, that’s a little Artisan for me. I’ve always washed and used the two bucket method but, the decon, if using paint decon chemicals rather than iron removing products, is too aggressive for me. As I do this for a living time is important so I’ve honed my process to give the best results in the most careful and time conscious way. As I say though if you’re doing your own car I get why you’d use such a process

[ref]Stotts[/ref], agreed always iron removing, never TFR. The above is a 1 day basic process from pro's in my neck of the woods and of course doesn't include the wheels, interior or engine bay or any dressings etc. My Porsche took 4 days and the results spoke for themselves, I think it's horses for courses ranging from automatic car wash to hand car wash to pro valeting to pro detailing.

Ah so the si refers to the engine and the 'additional si'/SE refers to the trim level?

So from the exterior on post facelifts are there any tell tale signs to differentiate?

Other than possibly the wheels and the higher stance I don't think there are any external differences.

Internally it's the seats, steering wheel and the black headlining in Sport models. But all of those were options on the SE just to confuse things a bit more!

I have seen a few SEs with the M-Sport seats and they're the most desirable part of the package so personally I wouldn't rule one of those out, especially on a budget. Wheels aren't a big issue as 18" sets get advertised on here fairly often.
I have owned both and currently selling my sport and can honestly say I preferred my high mileage SE in my opinion it suited uk roads better had a less thick steering wheel and I absolutely loved the looks in grey... my sport is great but not for me for a multiple of reasons and not solely car reasons ....I spend most of my time high up in my van now and really like the driving position more than a car been honest

We all find our preferred process. If you look up The Original Car Spa On FB you’ll see my biz and some of the cars done.
