Coupe Brake Calipers

Hello.

Does the Coupe share the same brakes as another other BMW's? I'm looking at getting a set from ebay and restoring them as mine have a not very attractive rust finish. Probably easier this way than trying to work on my set whilst attached to the car.

Also where is the best place to get replacement seals?

Thank you

One of these?

looks the same

Dont think so.. That says its from the 328Ci.. Which IIRC was pre facelift.. Think the brakes on the 330Ci are different.. larger I think.

Not 100% though sorry.

E46 330 petrol or diesel fronts are the same. I have those on mine as an upgrade.
Don't know about rears as I never touched those.

Wouldn't mess with seal kits. They rarely work. Either get from a breakers or a refurb set

Edit - there a great thread on the forum of exactly what fits. Cheap Brake upgrade, iirc

Thanks for the advice everyone.

May just paint them in situ, won't be as good as a full restoration, but would be loads less hassle and cost.

I hate hassle.

If all you are doing is painting them then it's way more trouble and expense buying second sets. I'd do most of the cleaning in situ, then remove them from the disk leaving just the flexi connected. You can then do a final clean and paint them without any concerns over masking hanging them off the suspension to dry.

That said I've done about 6 sets now and done it several ways, but never removed the flexi as bleeding the brakes is too much hassle, unless you really need them off to replace.
