Wild Atlantic way would be one of the most scenic drives in the world, check the cork,Kerry leg.if you want one of the best roads to drive a Z4 in Europe check out healy pass in Cork.

As you know Pete I'm originally from Belfast- donegal is beautiful- if you have 4 days if suggest ferry to belfast, then go up the Antrim coast road to the giants causeway, carsick a Reid rope bridge etc. Then truck on round to bushmills and stay at the bushmills inn. Day two go up to port rush and ports Stewert- you can drive on the beech at port Stewert.
Then work over to Donegal for a couple of days before heading back to Belfast.

Hi Taz

I drove Dublin to Galway - lots of options from motorway to B roads for that cross country route, also went north from Galway into Connemara - brilliant scenery and little coastal towns but very poor roads in general and also suffer coastal fog

South from Dublin to Kiliney and other little east coastal towns is ok but better roads ( and Bono's residence which the other half insisted on tracking down and stalking!)

Would be interested in south around Cork but never managed to get there yet - also Limerick for nostalgic reasons

Would be good drive with lots of options

My first wife was from N. Ireland - have done these routes (many years ago now though) but as I remember it's lovely Taz and a great way to get up over and across to Donegal. Cliffs of Mohar well worth seeing and some of the beaches on the Atlantic coast are amazing.
Will make a great road trip.

I Live in the North and Donegal is well worth a visit. A good route is the "Innishowen 100" a marked route of 100 miles that starts in Londonderry and finishes there too. It covers the whole Innishowen peninsula and the views are spectacular, though you will find ground clearance on the most spectular parts an issue and the road surfaces are not great in the main. I have never done this in the Z but I have done it twice on the bicycle. Enjoy.

I've been looking at that trip myself. Done the Isle of Man last year and that was a great trip. Ferry only 2hr 45 from liverpool. There is a ferry from Birkenhead that leaves 22.30 for 8 hrs that gets u in for 6.30 ready to start the day early. It's not cheap but the roads along the coastline do look fab.

thanks for the input guys

the liverpool to belfast ferry seemed the best option, but coming back on the monday the ferry is 22.30 urghhhhhhhhhhhhh

oh and ffs how long does it take, is it a rowing boat? its quicker to ferry from portsmouth to france
