Actually - the Z4M was my first US assembled automobile and I only have 2 words to say....

NEVER AGAIN!

If I ever get a BMW again I will make sure that it is German made and assembled from beginning to end! If I get a Japanese car then it will have to be Japanese from start to finish. The Z4Ms fit and finish is TERRIBLE!

As a prospective buyer that makes me feel much better... :(

The engine, transmission etc. are first rate. The issue is with the 'soft' items.

I have had 2 Z4Ms now. One was a Roadster and BMW bought it back because of the poor finish of the car. It had become a rattle box within a month. The roof did not work properly - the windows would not close properly etc. The engine and other important parts were fine.

BMW offered to replace the car and I decided to go with the Coupe because it is less likely to rattle. However, the windows cause problems.... Water enters in the car wash. The driver's side window seems to make a rubbing noise. One of the a/c vents rattles etc. I have the car on lease and plan to stay away from US assembled automobiles from this point on.

That being said. It drives like a dream!

If you notice - it is a T-34 MBT. Not an American design and definately not built by Americans. That is why it was so darn good :P :poke: :poke: :fuelfire: :fuelfire:
