Could we start a Z4 collection / relay thread?

Just had an idea after someone dropped a part off with me for another member to collect. I’m basically halfway between the two of them, so it saved a fair bit of mileage.

It got me thinking, this must happen all the time on here.

What if we had a thread where anyone who’s happy to help out occasionally could simply reply “I’m in” and their location.

Then, if someone needs something moving, they just post what they want moved, where it needs to come from and where it needs to get to.

For example, I might find something in Scotland that I want, but I’m down in Gloucester. Someone might be able to bring it from Scotland to a member in Manchester, and then another member might be travelling from Manchester towards Gloucester and be able to bring it the rest of the way.

It could work in stages like that, with different members helping with different parts of the journey.

No one would be expected to make a special journey, just help out if they’re going that way anyway.

Obviously it relies on people being good blokes and reliable, but I also think it could be a nice way of meeting other members along the way.

What do you think, good idea?
 
I'm between the office in Frimley and home in Ashbourne in the Peak District roughly once a month or so, and most often in my 3er estate. More than happy to help out where I can

That’s a great route, pretty much the spine of England! 😂 Thanks mate, exactly the sort of thing I had in mind.
 
I do bedroom to bathroom to kitchen to home office every day of the week!

But can also be persuaded to relay stuff between Kendal, Liverpool, Peak District and Crewe/Stoke if needed...as I like to just go out and drive for no reason anyway.
 
I live near East Midlands Airport. If anyone goes via Crawley (where an exhaust needs picking up) to this neck of the woods, that would be great! Cuppa tea + biscuit on arrival! :)

Also, been waiting for a delivery from Aliexpress for a couple of weeks so if anyone is in the Shijiazhuang area... ;)
 
Sounds like this can be a thing maybe one of mods could put as a sticky post or even better start new category or something. can we tag someone who can have a look and make it happen
 
It does rely on potential relayers checking the the thread or maybe the end recipient organises the routing. Maybe a map may be of use of possible.

Either way, count me in.

I'd be happy to help, but I'm not allowed out much these days...

Based near Bath and occasionally go to London, East Midlands, York, Margate and Brighton.

Just sticky a relay thread in the for sale section with a list of members and their rough location(s) and/or suggest red routes. Can lead a horse to water and all that...! Lol
