... when the sport button is pressed I find it easier and smoother to change gear.
I have had the car for nearly a couple of months and can't really get used to the gear changes in 1st and 2nd. Seems overly difficult to select the gears normally and reverse seems to be a real pain sometimes.

I know I may be opening myself up to some lovely forum abuse and yes I can drive etc :)
 
Maybe you should try giving a little more throttle? That's the only difference the sport button makes - increases throttle response (and sharpens the steering, but that won't affect gear changes).
 
Have a look at topics about the CDV - clutch delay valve. It messes about with clutch release to protect the transmission and can make gear changes make you look like a learner.
 
Yeh I still have my moments from 1st to second - but only when I'm taking it easy

Giving it some beans I never have any problems

Of it was the other way around I wouldn't be very happy!
 
Does make me feel a bit like an amateur sometimes. Giving it a bit more revs seems to stabilise things out and the gear changing is smooth. Guess the sport button effects it as there are more revs for less travel in the pedal.
