Could I get £9k for it?

Tempted with the sale of my Z4 coupe as I could do with the money after moving house :cry:

2007 3.0Si Sport
89k miles
FSH with some BMW
Montego Blue
Wheel spacers
Black sports seats with aluminium trim
M steering wheel.
ZHP knob
All 4 tyres are Falken non-run flats with 6mm plus all round
Aux connection
MTEC discs with EBC pads all replaced a few months ago.

The MOT and oil/brake fluid service are due at the end of January 2015 (or 1900 miles) The car drives perfectly, some laquer chips on front bumper and some bubbling on the 108s but overall great condition.

Just looking for opinions at the moment as I am not committed yet. Could I achieve the £9k price I would like with a private sale? Or would I be better off getting 12 months MOT and service done next year and adjusting the price accordingly?

Adding MOT & service next will not add value but will heighten your chance of a sale
I don't think your want of £9k is ott by any mean's , you would just have to be patient
The mileage & no nav will hit you hardest so concentrate on the many other plus points & try a ebay classified ad at £9150
Its the best place to monitor interest & if you are on the board pricewise you should see interest & offers

Are there any other costed options? I have:
Sport Spec
108 Alloys
Multi-function Steering Wheel (you should add this to your list)

Send me over the last 7 digits of your VIN / Car Reg / VIN decoded printout and I can work out the exact extras for you.
However based on the information provided thus far:

Your PX value (considering in options and mileage) is : £6,975 - £7,450 (Clean condition trade in)
However my valuation is as follows:
Original list price (inc options) = £34,010
Going by my depreciation algorithm if the car is 7 years old £8,503 and 8 years old £7,482 before amending for mileage
My personal opinion is that for a 7.5 year old car (before mileage) is £8k. Your car is slightly over average mileage and so based on that each additional 1k miles over 75k knocks off £50. So bringing you to £7,200.

Looking around at the market, an advertising price of around £8-8.5k would be my advice and accepting anything over £7,500.

If BMW had the car, they may try to advertise it for £9k but with such high miles and low spec, I dont think they would jump at it and would try to give you £6.5k for it..

£9K wouldnt look expensive to other stock at the moment..

I would try it at £8750 and consider offers...
 
Haha. Mixed opinions but none too offensive or surprising really.

I really am hoping not to have to sell (especially if I will only get circa £7500).

The valuations given on different websites vary by as much as 2k! Hence me asking you lot :D

I think Mr Wilks is right with the eBay classified route as I have had some success there before.

I'm not sure this works with cars this rare and the small number of buyers looking for them. They are a niche market car with very few actually for sale. Better to start higher and come down than sell too cheap. I would try at around the 9k mark with mot and service done if not is due soon. Will cost you £200, but two things less to haggle on.

Also what I meant to point out in my post, but with few around this might not be easy. 42 on ebay, cheapest 8k.

Downside is flimper spec, with 42 about on eBay alone it tends to slide down in desirability when comparing it with ones with toys.

Haha so that was the plan all along eh.

Well it did work and looks like I'll be staying. Thats what is good about this forum, the honesty!

Although sometimes the truth hurts!
 
Now is probably the worst time to try and sell a car, with people's spending commitments being on the upcoming festive period. Unless the rare case pops up where someone is buying one as a present?
