Cough and splutter

Started the car this morning, drove for 5 mins, pulled up at a roundabout and it went into a a very rough idle. I could rev it ok but it would go back to an extremely rough idle. So I navigated the roundabout and pulled over. It continued to chug chug and then died, ECM and tranny warning lights came on.
I switched off the ignition and waited 5 mins. Then it started ok, no warning lights, and I continued the journey to work as normal. It has half a tank of petrol.

Does this sound familiar, anyone..?

Heya, This could be a sign of the Cam or crank sensors having issues. As the dash lights came on they will have logged the error. Try and get the codes read and they should direct you to where the issue is.

If you don't already have a code reader now is a good time to get one, will be cheaper than paying someone to read for you.

Thanks. Good idea  Where would I get one?

Got mine from B cables, came with INPA and works on my Win10 tablet. Not got anything XP related working like SSS yet but it was fine on Win7. About £30 including cable.

maybe a stupid question but how have you got the software on your tablet, i have just bought (second hand) a BMCables adapter that came with 2 cds, I've installed it on my laptop

It's a windows tablet, full version of windows. Replaced my laptop that had a broken screen like for like which is why I got it.
