Went in today to view an M40i and also decided to test drive an M2 LCI whilst I was there.
The salesman was polite and professional, accommodating the additional M2 test drive which I hadn’t pre-booked, a good experience in that sense.
The M40i was disappointing, it drove very nicely, but the roof had been cleaned badly with a pressure washer, marks all over the place and not easy to sort out. The drivers seat bolster was bad for a 19k mile car, with no effort to sort it out at all. This is on a vehicle with an asking price of £36.6k
I felt for the salesman, as the car was good in other respects, but the prep team have done him no favours. If the car was better we’d have been talking numbers as I was in the mood to buy.
There was someone else on here who viewed a white M40i at the same dealer a couple of weeks ago and they said that car was also badly prepared.
So a mixed experience- the professional sales team being hampered by whoever preps their cars.
