Cost to respray hard-top for e85?

Anyone have any ideas what the cost might be to respray a hard top for an e85? All of the ones I've seen are grey, but all of the cars I've seen that interest me are not grey!

Anything else to consider? Will a shop be able to colour match closely or will it look a bit odd? :/

Spray costs have gone stupid high now, previous aero skirts spray was £150, I paid £450 cash a few weeks back. As the roof is bigger I would expect it to be closer to £600 then

I got quoted £ 800, so didn’t bother, silver top on a blue car doesn’t look that bad?.
For cash you could probably get it done for half that

Get it wrapped.

That's actually a really good idea! I'd consider wrapping the whole car matt black too (looks awesome in all the vids I've seen!)

I have a black one I’d consider selling. Black goes with everything.

How much do you want for it?

£600 to £800 seems excessive just for a roof. I think wrapping is probably going to be my best option...

Back in the 70s I sprayed my MGB hardtop blue with spray cans and then got a good finish with t cut and elbow grease. Looking back it was a much simpler way of life in those days  :D

Vinyl wrap is cheap enough, I didn’t think of it at the time, I think with a helpful mate for half a Day I’d have a DIY attempt, little to loose and no mess that you can get with paint.

I did a brief ppf sample wrapping during one of the Porsche outings to a ppf company, the actual application was ok to diy. That was for a straight bit of course, nothing challenging like a mirror.

A roof doesn’t look to difficult

Even if you can find a wrap in the same colour, it'll still look odd with the paint and wrap finish being different.

Doesn't look too difficult, haha!

It comes with a stand, so £950?

Thanks I will keep it in mind (there's one closer to me for just over 8 ) but in grey. Do you have any photos of yours?

Another advantage or a wrap is that if you come to sell it you have two colour options which increases the market.

Ah the good old days, BLs finest, I remember them well, in terms of value E85s are light years ahead, can you image what an MGB would have been like after 7yrs use, it would have been falling apart

Mine was 8 years old and it was fine until someone drove out of a side turn into me writing the car off :x
