Cost to lower car

My E89 has 19" and I'd like to lower the car a bit. How much does this usually cost and what parts are involved if it's just an inch or 2?

Thanks for any help guys!

Just buy yourself a Coilovers kit and fit it yourself. Check your top mounts too for wear because you might as well spend the little extra and do it properly. I'm not sure how much a garage would charge. Shouldn't take no more than a couple of hours!

would agree with coilover recommendation. i am planning/hoping to go down bcr route which i have used before and loved (costs approx 650 - from Teddy at ssdd motorsport). £150 fitting most places plus tracking

i have prev been happy-ish with springs in terms of height but in terms of ride quality coilovers are night and day different...

AMD will supply and fit the Eibach pro kit with full four wheel hunter alignment for £369.

The drop was just right to fill in the arches without causing issues with speed bumps etc.

Newbie butting in here with my two pennies...

I don't understand why anyone would want to drop an E89?! Once upon a time I had a Corrado VR6 which I decided to lower by 40mm on coilovers because as standard it looked like it was on stilts and the appearance was vastly improved, but the stance on the Z4 is already perfection in my opinion. The suspension is highly sophisticated and the ride is already rather firm (especially on 19s) with very little body roll and it seems like madness to me to 'downgrade' to what would be essentially inferior springs. I have seen some cars that are so low they couldn't even clear a baby hedgehog and I just don't get it... but then I am middle-aged. Each to their own I suppose.

lol im a middled aged GP with 4 kids so cant get much more boring than that but every car I've own has had mid quality aftermarket coilies and has improved the handling a mile ... plus the golden oldies I visit at home often comment how they love the stance too ;)

If it's an M Sport version then you don't get a decent drop just a harsher ride on crap roads but better handling on smooth roads/tracks

Do you have adaptive suspension?

I was looking at the H&R springs and H&R roll bars - not much drop but quite an upgrade apparently.

H&R part # 28987-1
TUV approved.

Also reduce the camber to -1.5 to reduce tyre wear and under steer.

+1 Had the camber reduced on our 35i when we had our Eibach's fitted and wheels aligned. Nice even rear tyre wear ever since, having a new set of Michelin Pilot Super sport rears fitted this week, the initial rears lasted 3 years / 20,000+ miles.
