Corrosion on 108 wheels

Hey all,

Just an update - without flaming my dealer - we're 4 months on, i've been back and forth to dealer umpteen time but dealer is still having "difficulties" in getting their outsourced spray shop to take the wheels back.

Apparently their (spray shop's) stance is that they wont warrant the work they do on 108s  - says it all doesnt it! - and the dealer is still arguing with them, but has admitted fault and commited to resolving.

This shoudln't be my problem, and after 4 months i'm now less inclined to take the lenient approach of giving them another chance to refurb properly.

They have a last chance to resolve by Tuesday or it's going into writing and i'll be asking for new wheels!

Thanks for all the comments to date...

liamconnolly, I've noticed something else, having just looked again at your pics.

They've painted the stainless steel bolts too

For goodness sake make sure they remove the paint from them or they'll look horrendous in no time

lc,u should take them to either The wheel specialist or somewhere similar(ie lepsons? i think/search on here),who will split the wheel, refurb them properly, inc polishing the outer rim,and bake them,i.e not juswt using a spray laquer,as urs appear to be,and they wil give u at least a 1yr warranty on them. mine were done last yr,and ,thanks to monthly applctn of poorboys wheelwax, they are as good as day 1. (have 2 sets/1 for winter). both fine.

Get them to pay for a proper refurb, and u will be fine/if u invest in some wheelwax/protectant,and a little extra tlc. well worth it

At the moment he's still pursuing a Warranty job.

Thanks again guys for the sound advice - given that they have deteriorated quite a bit since the pics (and the car hasnt moved due to the snow!) i'll ensure they are totally stripped to the bare metal before any further attempts.

If they continue to delay (phone you back Monday, no call; phoen you back tuesday, no call; phoen you back weds, no call etc) I think i might start to make the fuss i shoudl have made in October!

The cost of being reasonable!
