Corrosion not covered by AUC warranty?

Hi,

can anyone verify this? The sole reason I bought an AUC was due to the warranty I received.

The roof failing is a major headache i would like to avoid and be covered for. If BMW come back and state the engine was corroded and its not covered then i will not be best pleased :x

Having dealt with BMW in the midlands, i have come to realise that I really need to be sharp and on my toes for any warranty work to be put through. It seems the people they have behind customer service desks in wolverhampton just follow a mantra to the letter when it comes to work being done under AUC warranty.

Anything out of this mantra is either not considered or you are basically not told about it and charged a £130 inspection fee!!!

Ok, I can see why you posted about the roof in the other thread now.

The roof motor should be covered, after all it is well documented about the design issue. Alloy wheels on the other hand are not and neither are Certain Seals.

I'm about to take out either the BMW or Warranty Direct policy both have plus and minus points, but believe probably less problems going direct to BMW.

With WD you have to pay for the repair and claim back, with BMW you don't do anything.

Not to worried about that, but stereo/satNav isnt covered so if your screen screws up (like they can) it wont be covered, but wear and tear is. Think it will end up being BMW for the extra few £ for the piece of mind.

For a daily ride I can imagine it is worthwhile. For the few thousand mile I do in a year, not sure if the BMW warranty is just too excessive.

BMW £442 for Top level cover no excess, no breakdown (much cheaper elsewhere).

The main reason I want to continue is because of the head change I had done and want to make sure it's 100%, but if I have the car more than another 12 months I wont bother extedning further.

For an M you are talking close to £900 though for a year ...
