Hi, my Zed has got whiteworm corrosion around the edge of the center caps
Do you think I could get these replaced under warranty? Car is 4 years old, 32k miles

Do you mean on the plastic centre caps, or in the metal of the wheel?

Hi Kevin

It's the chrome rim of the plastic centre caps. They've turned from silver to white in parts of the rim.
I had a similar issue with my old Golf centre caps

You might get them under warranty but a new set is less than £20?

Seem to be around the £32 mark for a set

Why pay... yes I had mine replaced under warranty... and the boot badge/boot handle which also went that way.

Worth a try but I would be surprised if they would be replaced under warranty, I thought trim was only warranted for 12 months.

Tim.

If you can get them free go fo it.

Your other options are a full replacement from the stealer c£9 each (just stumped up myself) or buy the metal covers off eBay and fit them to the standard plastic back plates ( the are only held on with four folding tabs) I kept the four back plates just in case.

I paid £8 for four of ebay, as mine had gone the same way.
Cheap and cheerful, they also came with a chrome ring instead of the original white colour (or was that corrosion).

Timely post this as the caps on my wheels, together with the boot catch, have the same issue and I was wondering whether to ask the dealer to replace them. Now I'll have go... :)
