Correct petrol for 2l Z4

Hi, can anyone advise if there is any benefit in using regular unleaded fuel or higher octane fuel? Does it improve MPG and or is better for the engine? It's more expensive to use high octane, but is it worth it for this engine?

Should be a label inside the fuel flat advising on fuel octane, my experience in other cars is a small improvement in economy and better pickup.

Even the wife's fiesta seems more peppy on 97+.

Just put standard Shell/Texaco/BP unleaded in and avoid ALL supermarket brands. Simply not worth the extra for V-Plus style stuff and it's not necessary anyway.
 
Hi Ozzy I have a 2ltr as well when ever I use normal petrol my emission light comes on and since I have reset the
light and only used shell V plus it hasn't come on again that was over 4 months ago and I have definitely noticed
better MPG as well
