Coronation Street redux

I started watching Corrie back in 1975 on my first visit to the UK. The girl I was dating got me hooked and it has been a 12 step programme for me ever since. Over the years I was able to keep up with the show mainly because of a Canadian TV channel broadcast. That ended in approx 2001. By absolute total chance I found it available through one of those "sharing" torrent sites and went on a serious binge: I downloaded and watched 3 months of my beloved Corrie. Now I know there are others like "Eastenders" etc., but none are a close to me as Coronation Street. And yes, I know this is an illness and I prolly need an intervention but so what. I love the show, I love the set and the diabolical schemes. I miss so many that have come and gone, especially Hilda Ogden. There is no hope for me so don't try to persuade me to waste my time on something else. I've neglected my wife, my dog and even cut back on detailing time. Now I have lowered my standards to have weird fantasies about Becky. Damn that show. I am so dependent.

Anyone else have the illness like I do? Anyone?? Hello? Bueller??

I don't care much for Coronation Street. I think it's still playing on CTV in Canada. I absolutely love Black Adders and that other show set in WWII France with the owner of a café as the main character. :) I can't remember the title of that show. :headbang: The british make great television.

Coronation Street plays regularly on CBC. I don't follow it though.

I agree on the Brit TV. Aside from Top Gear, my favourite Brit series is Spooks.

So many US series are basically rewrites of British TV - The Office is probably the most well known, but even this new show here "Life On Mars" is based on a British series.

BBC Canada is a channel we have on quite a bit in our house.

Cheers, Al

I used to pull up a chair and watch Corrie when there was no video, just 2 episodes a week and my mum bribed me with toffees to keep quiet. Happy days.

Too much to do these days and nothing happens on the street aside to odd ludicrous plot
