Cornwall in May

Myself and boyfriend planning on going to Cornwall early May, wanted some opinions on where to stay, what to see, where to dine etc. I've never been to Cornwall so would value your views. Also someone at work today suggested not taking the Zed as the little fishing villages have some narrow, crooked roads..would I be better off taking the Polo?

Some of the roads are tiny, but most people are polite and let each other through. I've taken the SMax there without issue

ruby, hi,bring the Z there are some great roads here, you dont need to get stuck , i drive my luton van all around the county and theres very few places that are really tight. depending on budget theres a load of excellent places to stay, the scarlett at mawgan porth 5 miles up the coast from newquay is an eco spa hotel with hot tubs on the cliff top , i have friends who run luxury b and b in charlestown , a 17th century harbour with resident tall ship and pub and restaurants, could email you a list of special places, the roseland or lizard peninsulas are very good as is zennor beyond st ives, if you are going to visit eden we are close we may have a vacant granny annexe if decorated by then, ( at Z rates of course) PM me with dates, oh and hoon guiding included too ! good for mrs mad 4 to see that some ladies are coupe lovers too,. as a car is just a car to her.

Hi Ruby, my GF is from cornwall (nr Redruth) so we go down there now and again to see the parents, we're due down May some time actually.

I'd highly recommend taking the zed, it's great roads and scenary, but be careful on some of the more narrow roads, as some people don't like driving slowly... my GF & her parents are always moaning about tourists racing round... although I'm convinved it's more likely locals lol

Kynance Cove is an amazing little bay, great waves, white sand beach, lots of sun and good cornish pasties. It's a really nice walk down from the car park as well. Lots of great memories there with my family!

Some of the roads may be narrow down here but very few would stop a Z4. There's a small branch of the Z4 owners club down here ( two of us!) so when you get here give us a ring (07867 551238) & we'll go for a drive somewhere. We have an E85 & an E89 in the Club. I live in Illogan near Redruth but work weekdays so weekends would probably be best. Cornwall is very pretty & rugged.

That looks lovely  I think if we got good weather in the UK there wouldn't be any need to go abroad :)

We live in east Cornwall but regularly go west.
Our current favourite is the Housel Bay hotel on the Lizard.

If you like walking it's a perfect spot right on the coast path and a pleasant walk to Kynance cove.

Ruby Cornwall is fine for the Z. Any narrow roads go easy, with the lid down you will hear others. If you are here for a week or more you will be able to see many of the main places, then plan your next visit to see more. I'm in Newquay fairly central for anywhere. Places to stay already mentioned are good, troll the net for info on accomadation let us know where you like the look of and I'm sure you will be told if they are no good.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, will definitely take all into account. Shall be sitting down and properly planning over the weekend. I'm very excited and more inclined to take the ///M after your feedback.
