Coolant Level Too Low question

Hi All,

My 10 month old E89 2.0 greeted me with a 'Coolant Level too low' welcome when I started her up this morning. I'm a bit concerned that a closed coolant system could be registering as low within its first year.
I have booked it in at the stealers but just wondered...

Has anyone else had this light come up and were any defects found?
If there is a leak and the coolant gets dangerously low would I get any differentiated warnings like.... 'coolant low' ... 'Look mate get it looked at'.....'Whooa! STOP!!!' or will it just keep telling me that coolant is low?
If there is a leak whats the likely culprit?

Cheers in advance

I would have thought a car of that age would not be using water, so possible leak ??. It should be covered by warranty at that age, let the dealers deal with it, for now though I would add coolant to the system, you don't want to damage the engine do you

mine did the same this morning, 9 month old and 14000 miles, no idea whats up with it! topped it up and will run it and see.
