Coolant leak

Anyone got any pics or diagrams of how the rad is plumbed in?
The car sprung a leak in a traffic and the light came on. Water is pouring out of the bottom somewhere under the filler spout when you refill it.
Guessing rad is leaking or hose has split I can’t see in the dark. But one thing is sure it has no water in it.

New rad then... any idea if it’s an easy job

Not a new rad, you can buy the tank on its own.
Easy job to swap.

Ah I see ... I was on my phone in the pub so just skimming through. That makes sense. I need to have a look in the daylight ans see if it’s cracked or a hose has come off.

Has to be said, 100% correct on the problem; split top to bottom, and what an easy fix. Ended up taking raf fan off to get access a little better (2screws lift out) which meant replacing the thermostat was a doddle deffo gives much better access to the front of the engine

Think the “expansion” was left out of the post... at least that’s what I call it! (Expansion tank). It’s a well know weak point on the m54

Was this issue fixed on the facelift N52, or is it still a weak point?

The part number runs to 2008 so it must be a flaw on the n52 as well! (17117573751)
