Coolant Issue

Hopefully it is due to the air in the system, but the cooling fan constantly running is often the first sign that the pump is on its way out.
Get the mechanic to code read the engine control system and look for pump codes.

My thoughts too.

Get a Pierburg pump and a Mahle thermostat from autodoc for around £300.

Few of us have done these if you'd rather ask someone who actually knows what they are talking about. :roll:

Exactly that mate, I literally showed your comment to the mechanic and handed him my obs scanner. He said he already had one and that there were no codes. So annoying! Here was me trying to bleed it for 10hrs

I’ve found this listing on ebay for the pierburg pump and mahle t-stat. Would this be okay? I’ve noticed some show electrical cables included others without. Thinking it would be cheaper than autodoc and arrive sooner:

Replacing the pump yourself isn't that hard if you can get the front in the air.

I got one from Germany on eBay. It wasn’t much quicker and a few weeks later I got a customs invoice to pay!
