Coolant Expansion Tank

I'm wondering if anyone can chip in here:

I suspect my expansion tank is cracked.... I've read in numerous posts I found when searching this issue, most people recommend the Hella brand one.

At the time of ordering, I couldn't find anywhere with a Hella brand one in stock (that wasn't eBay - I didn't want to risk it on a coolant bottle). So I ended up ordering this one from Eurocarparts (Product Code: 205110020):

Does anyone recognise the brand, are they any good? Should I get a Hella branded one as I've found a retailer with some in stock now.
 
Not me personally. I've got a Meyle one before but think that ones had it now too! :(
Wonder if you can get a cast one? The R53 Cooper S has one that I'm tempted to get. Nice if they did one for the M54.

I think you mis-read my post lol - I already ordered it. That being said, I did use one of ECP's "discount codes that's not actually a discount because they over-inflate prices to start"

Although still about £1 more than CP4L

You can get the Hella tank from ECP, just set the car as E46. The only difference is the E46 tanks have a tab attached showing correct level, but this just unclips. Aside from that its identical.

Sure it'll be available cheaper on CP4L too

Thanks for the info.... although I've already bought the JP version, so was really questioning if that will be ok or *if* I should buy a hella now in-stock?
 
They're probably fine, but perhaps order the Hella and return the JP one? I know they're very accommodating with returns.

I'd personally go with the known brand, hence why I've installed a Hella tank myself, along with OEM hoses.

Of course the choice is yours, it is a bit of a faff ordering another and sending that one back, and like I said I'm sure it'll be fine.

That's actually a good shout. GSF have the "proper" (eg, listed for Z4) Hella one for £41 after discount code. (Over inflated price of £91 before :O ) which beats ECP's E46 one of £44 after discount
