Coolant change

I know the E85 coolant system can be difficult to fill without getting airlocks. Has anyone tired these vacuum filling kits from Ebay?

I do have a small compressor which should be enough.

Hi,i have used a vacuum bleeder before and they are good. Haven't used on a E85 mind you. Very easy to use.

Yes I have one and it works very well.

I understand these suck air out until the hoses flatten? Is that correct?
Doesn’t cause any damage to old rubber hoses?

I've not seen them do that on any of the video's I've watched. They just create enough negative pressure to suck coolant in.

I never do a complete coolant change. On a regular basis I use one of those fluid suction pumps, very cheap on eBay . You insert a thin pipe into the header tank as far as it will go and then pump out just under 2 litres of coolant. I then top up with fresh coolant. This avoids any problems with air locks etc .
Might not be the accepted way of doing it but at least I am refreshing twice a year.

Mines not been changed in the five years I've had the car. I want to change the header tank as well so I'll be doing a full flush and change.

I think the idea is if the hoses get damaged or don't hold vac then they're on their way out anyway.
They all collapse down and you shut off the venturi and check the gauge doesn't move. Then filling is super easy.

If you've got an air supply it's a great tool and a necessity for newer models.
