Coolant Change Intervals

I know this has been discussed before but I can't find a definitive answer.

Is this once every 4 years or not?
 
Nope, never that I am aware of. Coolant is classed as a 'for life' item IIRC (at least by BMW). Wouldn't hurt to change it though obviously
 
I had mine changed at Insp 2/43k miles as an additional item, it wasn't expensive and gives me peace of mind.

Will probably get mine done on it's inspection 2 though if dealer/indi recommend.
 
i had mine done at inspection two too, seem to remember every 2 years but that is poss brake fluid, but 35 quid every two years is doable anyway for peace of mind imo. or even an easy sun morning diy job. :thumbsup:
 
I don't have an M car but I changed mine today. And it looked nasty my car has done 67k miles. It can't hurt to changing it?
 
Always get it done every 3-4 years. It does deteriorate, and well worth changing!
 
I thought my book says every 4 years, as others have said its so cheap and easy to do its well worth it.

I plan on tracking my zed soon so i have done a fair few precautionary things like coolant, gearbox and diff oil etc.
 
I had been working on the once every 4 years principle (which is due soon), would this be affected by having just had an Insp 2 though?
 
I woudlnt have thought they would do a coolant change on an Ins 2 unless you paid extra for it, So i would carry one out anyway for piece of mind.

May be worth checking the invoice though as see if they did or not.
