Coolant airlock problems PLEASE HELP

Hi guys new on here

I’ve got a 2006 z4 2.5si and I’m trying to bleed the coolant system with no joy. I can’t get my electric water pump to self bleed with foot on gas for 10 seconds with the ignition on? Does it have a fuse for the water pump? I’ve just changed my coolant and I’ve had no problems before this

have you removed the larg plastic cover over the top of the radiator so you can get to the bleed screw on the top hose connected to the expansion tank ? run engine and get it up to temp slacken off screw to let air out (don't remover plastic screw) when no air and water coming out tighten screw.

Interior temperature knob also needs to be set to max.

And it runs for a long time so if you can it would be worth having it hooked up to a battery charger just in case.

I had problems with the self bleeding the last time I had the water pump changed on my e89, I believe if you have any service lights or possibly fault codes then the pump won’t run to self bleed, when I changed the pump previously there was no service light and the pump ran fine.

Thanks guys for the replies, car has been parked up and a friend put his diagnostics computer on and this fault code came up.

FC 2E81 Electric coolant pump, speed deviation, speed outside tolerance.

So is that saying the water pump has gone?

Think the headlights need to be on too:
ignition (position 2?)
heater control on full
headlights on
hold down accelerator pedal for ten seconds.

BMW state the battery should be connected to external power source, presumably because it takes up to 12 minutes with the headlights on...
