Just posted this or a shorter version in another thread but wanted to post this for some time just needed a cool/cold day to get the pictures
This is oil pressure just after start up like 20 seconds after with 10/60 oil and out side temp of 3 Deg C
It take a few mins to get the oil pressure below 60psi without driving it and then a few miles to get everything to temp remember the diff oil and gearbox oil needs warming up too
As you can see from the photos oil pressure is high so don't drive until the car has dropped off the increased revs as a minimum if you don't have an oil pressure gauge
The water temp climbs quite quickly as the thermostat is closed and you are only heating the water around the block until it opens
The oil pressure drops after a few mins of idling or gentle revs up to 1700rpm stationary
The oil temp take a long time to come to temp
I tend to drive off when there is a good bit of heat in the coolant water so around 60 degC
Revs below 2500/3000rpm and no labouring of the engine, most of the time I leave the heater off and use the heated seats if needed marginal gains but helps the engine warm up quicker (no scientific proof here)
All of this help everything warm up and normalise before any load and revs above 3000rpm
Hope this helps someone understand the need to warm the whole car up
