Convertible Windscreen - Original BMW

I have the opportunity to purchase this windscreen at about 1/2 the original price. The individual selling it only used it a few time and has now sold his 2006 Z4. It is in excellent like new condition. It has always appealed to be because it is easy to remove and roll up and store in the boot/trunk. The just over $300.00 US new price has always put me off. It is all leather with a mesh wind screen and fits over the roll hoops. Does anyone here have any experience with this windscreen which is sold by BMW.

Virtually identical to the old Z3 one and I've had/have lots of experience with them. Wash it in the sink with soapy water when it's dirty , otherwise it's fine , I keep mine on all the time and unzip it when I need to see clearly out the back with the roof up. :driving:

I have the same one. Find it really effective. Not the prettiest thing in the world but don't think any of them are, OEM or not.

JP has the one that came with my car when I bought it - I upgraded to the more attractive mesh one, but have to say the leather strap on was a better at deflecting the wind.

If you are getting it for a good price, give it a try, you can always sell it on if its not for you.

Is that solid in the centre panel? If so I retract the above statement. Mine both had mesh and worked great.

The dealer offered me one, but I declined saying I wasn't into bondage and went for the factory fit option instead.

Looks OK to me for $150-160?
$155 which is almost exactly 1/2 of what it cost new. I am not crazy about how any of the windscreens look but the big advantage I see with this one is that it can quickly be installed or removed and then stuffed into the boot.

So buy it, armor-all it and show us a pic...preferably with a large blonde chewing one corner... :D :P

Thanks for all the comments guys both pro and con...

I have made arrangements to see it Thursday night. I want to see how well it fits and that it tightens down good as I don't want something that is flapping in the wind. If I get it I will post up a few pictures... :camera:
