Hello !
I replaced my old hydraulic motor at a shop. They also replaced my hydraulic arms since they were leaking. The top was now finally able to move up and down BUT my front latch motor wasn’t working now. I was able to close it manually so I told them I would fix the front latch motor another time. Long story short I used the car that day able to use the buttons to move the top up and down and I would just close it manually. At the end of the night I was no longer able to close it manually via Allen wrench. Then I garaged the car for 2 days when I went to put down the top all I heard was the front latch motor running but not the hydraulic pump so the top wasn’t moving. I had to put it down manually. So now when I press the top up button I don’t hear the hydraulic motor running so it doesn’t move and when I press the top down I do hear the hydraulic motor running. Any ideas thanks for reading THANKS.

Initially it sounds like an intermittent sensor loom issue and therefore the roof is confused as to where it is and what to do next.

If the motor has been relocated into the boot it is easy to test the motor operation simply by applying 12v direct to the motor terminals. If the roof moves, this proves the motor, the pump, the lines and the rams.

Once proved, you can discard any of these parts as the problem and concentrate on the looking at sensors, ECU, micro switches etc

Yes! It does sound like a loop because even with the top stuck in the fully down position and locked there the light for the convertible button still flashes red as if the top is still in the motion of being moved! Thank you so much!
