Replacing my '03 convertible top motor - thanks to the outstanding DIY info on this site provided by shipkiller, will save over a grand assuming I get it all back together, but need to replace some lost fluid. Anyone know what is is?

Expect you can order it up at your local dealer with that number or from that website perhaps?

I saw that in your write-up - but since my dealer wanted $1362 for the hydro unit - I decided to take a shot at getting the water soaked motor back working. I removed it from the hydro pump and that resulted in 1-2 oz of fluid loss. The good news is that after cleaning the motor and drying it out it runs fine on the bench. It was soaked but not as rusted as yours. When it failed it did quickly as if the electrical connection was lost rather than from a mechanical failure. More testing to go but if it checks out its going back in. Worse case - I stand to loose a day if I have to do this again but stand to gain about $1400 if it works.

Your DIY is outstanding and I would not have tried this without it but I did have one problem - same problem you had - I could not get the U-tube out of those side clips. I tried to pull up as you suggested but that got me nowhere. I finally inserted a flat tip screwdriver between tube and the clip, twisted and it popped right out. You can do this easily thru the trunk. Using this technique it took less than two minutes to get them out.
