Convertible friendly jet washes

Right, hope I don't annoy the detailing crowd...

I live on a small but busy road without a driveway, so I'm lucky if I can even park outside my own house, making washing my own car somewhat difficult.

I usually go to the local "blingy" hand wash place (next to the Tesco in Chorlton, if anyone knows that part of Manchester). First time I went they didn't know what to do with the roof so I just asked them to leave it and do the bodywork. They seem to do a good job.

The roof needs a clean now though, so what shall I ask them to do with it next time I get it washed? I assume the foam and spray wax stuff they use will harm the roof?

Alternatively does anyone know of a convertible friendly hand wash place in Manchester?

You don't need a lot of equipment to clean your roof, just buy the stuff and walk to your car. Still get the local hand wash to clean the car. Just do the roof.
It's a leaky mistake if they damage it
 
I use a power washer on mine to get all the bloody cat hairs off the roof :D
 
Hi, I also use that place and they did a good job but I asked them not to do the roof so I could put it back down straight away. There's another place behind the big Indian restaurantnear the library who's been washing for years and they have streams of upmarket soft tops going through. Trouble is they're that busy you usuallyhave to leave it and go for a wander.
 
I do notice that they all charge extra for a 4x4 because there is more to wash - but they don't charge less when you take a rag top in!

Chorlton library? I'll have a look, didn't realise there was a hand wash place there.

It's a visual mistake to let them even wash your car. Swirl mark city!

I recently picked up a karcher K4. Has variable power on the jet which is perfect for the job in hand.
