Controversial opinion

I don't understand what people find so terrible about it. I also own another car and have owned other cars in the past and driven plenty of cars and it doesn't feel any different to me than any other car. Albeit it was pretty terrible to drive before I got the EPS module fixed. The sticky steering issue which ended with the module dying. Since it's been fixed it's been good. I do drive with the sport mode on always as I do in the Lexus unsure if that does something to the steering.

I don't find it abysmal, but it is the car's worst quality in my opinion. Even with the sticky steering issue fixed I still don't feel fully connected with the front wheels and the road. The M's steering is far superior and provides perfect feedback IMO. At some point, I will be retrofitting a hydraulic rack to mine. :D

I love them all, E85’s to G29’s not like anything else on the road
well, apart from the new Supra...
I like the Supra too ….. neighbour has one in black and since new hasn’t had a front plate on it, looks amazing!

When I first got in the Zed I was disappointed that there were so few switches. I think there should be more toggle and rocker switches like you had on old Jags etc.

Besides what matters is how they drive.
In the case of the e86 that’s only a secondary consideration. I’d be happy just to have one mounted on a plinth in my garden

Enjoy. :D  As long as it's not spoiling the view of our garden.

What an odd thread. An almost perfect series of cars and the quirks make em even more special Besides what matters is how they drive. :driving:

You're one of those forum people that refuses to hear anything bad about their car aren't you?

The Z4 should have been retired at the end of production of the e85 and the Coo Pee.

Should have come with Non Runflat tyres.

Shouldn't have had the electric steering.

BMW should have recalled the cars due to the issue with the springs instead of denying there was an issue. Springs should have been redesigned.

All the e85's and Coo Pee's should have come with the sports seats instead of the option for the crap seats in the non SI cars.

Crusie control should have been standard.

The smallest engine should have been the 2.5. The 2.0 and 2.2 should never have been in these cars.

Neither the e89 or the g29 should be considered a Z4 by anyone.

The e89 is just a 3 series in drag. At the time of release it was one of the ugliest BMW's ever produced. BMW have surpassed their ability to produce really ugly cars since then.

The g29 is just a Toyota.

The e89 and g29 will never become classics.

Is that enough? What do I win?

Problem is, those opinions are entirely rational and not controversial

That would make you one of those forum members that has not read too many of my posts over the years.

I've never understood black wheels, especially on black cars, just can see any detail, need contrasting colours to show the lines of the car.

I don`t like the round side indicators.
Agreed. Illegal I'm sure but I deleted mine, well at least the indicator bit. I think it would be better with just the crease not disrupted by the indicator/badge and have the indicator in the wing mirror like e89? Old cars I guess.

I much prefer the looks of the front of the pre-facelift to the facelift.

As others have already said all Z4s should have had M-Sport seats, BMW should have been more generous with the spec (my 2002 E46 had cruise and pdc as standard) and HPAS is much better than EPAS.
