Continental Contact Sport 3 or Michelin?

Need 4 new tyres, can't get Continental CS5 in standard 18" sizes, (apart from SSR run-flats). Can get CS3's or something else. I see Michelin PSS are now available in OEM sizes. Which ones, need to decide this afternoon!

Michelin pss with out doubt ! Had both fitted to my 335d over the last few years. Michelins wins hands down. Conti's very soft & I only got 7k miles out rears. Michelins I got 15k & they were so much better in the wet  car had been mapped so i'am sure you'll get a lot more :D

+1 for the PSS. If it had been vs the Conti SC5, then I would have said go for either, but the SC3 is older tyre tech (like the PS2).

The PSS might be 20% more expensive, but I bet you'll get more than 20% extra life out of them.

Remember to keep your receipt and then apply to Michelin for your £50-£70 fuel card.

A few days ago I have installed a set of new Michelin PIlot Super Sport. I've decided for 235/45R18 front and 265/40R18 rear on stock Z4M wheels, and I believe it's a really good size for street use. Slightly meatier than stock - which provides better protection against potholes, and just a tad wider.

Yesterday was a rainy day, and I discovered that on 1st gear, full throttle and wet road, the DSC light says nothing. With my previous stock Conti M3 255/40R18 it would flicker even on a dry road.
The PSS is unbelivable.

What Sizes did you go for on 18's for PSS please? My Rears have given up the ghost and these sound awesome :)
I've got

F: 225/45r18
R: 265/40r18

I only went for the 265 rears because the 255 wasn't available when I started using them 2 years ago.

The OEM 255 size is now available, and I'll have to decide in 15k miles whether to put the OEM size back on or stick with the 265.

mmm-five, how much did you pay for 4 ? If you don't mind me asking of course...

Tend not to replace them 4-at-a-time, and always shop around as prices fluctuate so much, but the last time I replaced them I paid:
- £153 each (fitted) for the fronts in 225/45r18 (September 2013) - now £150-ish
- £171 each (fitted) for the rears in 265/40r18 (Feb 2014) - now £180-ish

So a total of £648 fitted.

The 255/40r18 rear option seems to be priced about the same level as the 265/40r18.

Where did you get yours?
Last set of rears came from Lovetyres, and were fitted at their fitters in Hayes, Middlesex. Last set of fronts came from cTyres.

But I'm not loyal to one tyre dealer and just search all the online tyre dealers to find the best price - and compare it to my local independent. If they're within £10 then I'll stick with the local.
