Trying to find out if this is happening nationally or is a local phenomenon, getting tired of washing the car, not using it and still being filthy, pics show car cleaned on Monday evening, not been driven since and now needs cleaning again, this happens constantly and kinda makes me wonder about the air we are breathing too

Yep it's sand from North Africa, always had it always will. Every time the weather picks it up and dumps it here. Perhaps becoming more frequent with global warming, but not something I would know.

I rinse it off my wife's MX5 a couple of times a week. When it's about. :)

just seems to more common lately..its also like this when we have dry spells, there was already a build up of heavy dust before last nights rain

It does seem to be worse recently TBH. I thought "Sahara sand" only came up when there was a southerly air stream, yet our weather has been coming mainly from the north east or north west which is why it's been so bloody cold. :idunno:

its common and annoying.
my car is washed on a Saturday, and often looks like that by the following morning.

There also seems to be a lot of pollen around. Having a black car any dust and pollen shows up really quickly especially on the bonnet. Then if there is any rain at all, even a little shower, it leaves the car looking like your pics.

Thank god mine is white and does not show the sand as much but still have to wash it every week even though it hardly moves :D
