Considering Z4 - BMW finance deal

I currently drive a Scirocco tdi 140 gt. I have seen what looks like a good finance deal from BMW for a Z4 £299 per month!

Hopefully I won't be in negative equity on the scirocco, if so hopefully BMW may pay it off?

I have a few serious points to consider, especially around the everyday practicality of the car, how much is it likely to cost for a decent set of winter tyres and will this allow me to use it all year!

I will need to arrange an extended test drive, is this something the dealers are normally happy to do? (I am in the Tyneside area) and am I likely to get anymore out of this deal if I push? ( upgrades/service/winter tyres?)

There are a few different deals on at the minute - have seen 2, 3 and 4 year deals with varying mileage allowances and some of the deals are an upgraded spec with 19" wheels and heated seats. You should be thinking about 7-8k deposit contribution and a deposit if your own of £1500. Payments 299.

Doubt you could significantly better that.

Winter tyres - depends if you swap wheels or just the tyres. A set of 17s of eBay and some tyres will cost maybe £850 if you can get the wheels cheap enough. You'll have no worries driving it all year with winter tyres.

Mines a daily drive, have fitted winter tyres at a cost of £460.00 for 225/45/17 so not outrageous, unless you stick with RFT then your looking at the best part of a grand.

Take the 5 year maintenance contract and you can have 5 years or 60,000 miles at a reasonable cost too. Have to say its a great car to own, have a search for the must have options and you won't be disappointed

Hi and welcome to the Forum. Think most has been said as above. I have winter tyres on 18" rims bought from BMW. Mine's an older Zed so cost of wheels and tyres was £1600 but when you average it out I only use my 'summer tyres for 7/8 months of the year so the wear rate is halved so should be cost neutral over a 3/4 year contract.

Remember finnance rates can be negotiated as well as up front discount. The higher the finance rate a salesman can charge the better the commission. As for the negative equity issue on your current car in terms of part exchange this is again something you will need to negotiate. In these hard times dealers want to sell so if the deal is not what you want politely walk away and then wait for the phone call....

Good luck. Oh, and as an everyday drive it's what you make it. Will only ever carry one passenger and boot space is limited in comparison to the average family saloon. BUT you will always arrive at work with a smile on your face and look forward to the drive home.

I can fit a full size samsonite suitcase in the back of mine!!
