Both rear springs had snapped and needing replacement
Needed new brake lines, thanks to the originals being rusted pretty badly
Top mounts for the front suspension + tie rod ends
New front Rotors and brake pads
New right side exhaust back box

How much roughly did this set you back, if you don't mind my asking?

the electric power steering system had get worn and it will no longer self centre and feels sloppy.

Is this rectifiable?

The final bill came in at around £3400. The included my MOT and annual service , wheel tracking and a load of other tidying up jobs the car needed to have done.

Because I have an M, I have the hydraulic power steering, which was a main selling point for me going for an M, rather than the Alpia. I think there are kits that can sort this issue out.

Having had my coupe since 78k now at 119k the things that have gone:

rear spring cracked - bought new lowering springs so cost was around 250 I think
Water pump - 350 Fitted.
Starter motor - 150 fitted.
ABS pump - This was the worst job - BMW I think for a new unit is 2k, I used ECU tuning and sent them my unit and they repaired it, ended up costing £800.

If some of the above haven't been done I'd be expecting them to go especially the ABS / Water pump.

What made the ABS pump job cost £800? ECU Testing are supposed to charge around £200 + VAT for a rebuild and then I'd expect no more than £200 for a shop to remove/refit and do a full brake bleed with new fluid. Asking as I need to get this sorted on my 25.5k mile E86.

OK so the coupes (assuming not M, not at that price anyway) will have the 3.0si engine. Early ones (like mine) have a magnesium valve Cover, this changed to plastic in late 07 I believe.
Main things that will go around the 100k mark are, coolant expansion tank (cheap and easy), most of the suspension may well need replacing (especially if lowering springs fitted on orig shocks), bilstein b12 kit is a great replacement, and use meyle HD for top mounts etc.
Lower arms with bushes and ball joints and droplinks are cheap enough and easy diy, will massively improve the ride.
Gearbox and diff oil need doing if not done before (huge change to gear shift feel). Full service obviously, easy and cheap DIY job. Lifter tick is cured by warning the engine up and sitting at 3k rpm for 3 min, this is what bmw do with them if customer complains. The ccv system can clog, cheap enough for parts but a good hrs DIY job. Wheel speed sensors and hubs may need doing and remember that most of the bolts are aluminium so have to be replaced once removed (generally cheap enough from BMW).
Alternator belts and pulleys are cheap and 30 min DIY job (do at the same time as the expansion tank).
I would also highly recommend getting a dcan cable and a copy of inpa, dis v57 and sss v32 as they will save you a fortune in diagnostic costs and calibration etc.
Vanos solenoids can fail, use genuine ones only Chinese ones cause more issues than they are worth.
I also recommend replacing the guebo (propshaft coupler).
And if run flats are still fitted then look into replacing them for non rfts as owners report crap handling and ride with them fitted, rfts on 19s usually lead to cracked rims too.

That included cost of a hire car, postage ect. Car was out of action for a week. Garages hate the job because they have a bay out of action.
