Indications are that China will suffer for years to come. Take a look at the headlines >

Japan Ditches China In Multi-Billion Dollar Coronavirus Shakeout
The supply chain will never be the same. Take that to the bank.
It’s not Donald “Tariff Man” Trump’s fault anymore. It’s the new SARS coronavirus’ fault for shaking things up. On Thursday, geopolitical watchdogs at The Spectator Index noted that Japan’s government would spend upwards of $2 billion helping its multinationals leave China.

That's a band wagon I would be happy to see the rest of the worlds economies jump on.

100% agree...they seemingly sat on this information for way too long, before signalling the alarm. Unacceptable....would love to see a world wide boycott, maybe get some manufacturing back to the British mainland

Oh no! think British Leyland, Rootes etc. Poor workmanship and strikes. Or have we changed?

I got a call today from Polestar to say that my new car has started production and will be ready for delivery in July. It is made by Polestar who is owned by Geely. Production began in March 2020 in Geely's existing plant in Luqiao, China, which already produces the Volvo XC40. A huge amount of the stuff we own comes from China. Let's let the dust settle before we knock them too much. I told the caller that I would wait a few months before taking delivery as there is still uncertain times ahead.

it's not just the motor industry. We need to bring back telecomms manufacturing. The 5G debarkle with Huawei; What happened to Marconi? And why is the UK buying neuclear reactors from China?
