Connector for new iPad and Galaxy note on E89

Can someone let me know which connector i can use in the armrest for the above two gadgets please in my E89

It will depend on how the device presents itself to the car on connection. IIRC an iPad or iPhone presents as a camera card only and needs the right interface to work as a media player. No idea how the note presents
 
That's not what I meant. When you connect a USB device, it will appear to the device it is being connected to as whatever the manufacturer intended. If you connect your iPad to a PC without iTunes, all you get is the contents of the photo stream appearing. If your car isn't set up to recognise an apple device, all it will see is the photo memory. If you have iTunes, it will appear as an iPad with all the functionality apple intended

The note may well present as a memory stick, and if the car can see the folder structure of its memory you might be able to play any mp3 files you have stored on it.
 
Ok...thanks...my initial point was, what cable do people use with say the iPhone 5 with their E89's, or Notes on their E89's...
 
Morning stark, u need to search for a BMW iPhone y-connector on eBay & loads will come up. Basically it splits the iPhone connection into a USB and audio jack.

There don't seem to be any lightning connectors about yet so you'll need a 30-pin to lightning adapter from Apple (several people have tried aftermarket but they don't have full capabilities and won't work for audio with the car).

Can't help you with the note though but hope this helps :)
