Connecting an iPhone 5

Good afternoon,

Been having a search this afternoon on the site but can not find the right answer.

I have an iPhone cable coming out of the glove box in my M, but it is for the iPhone 4S and earlier. I am after a solution to connect my i5, wirelessly or otherwise.

Current options are buy an Apple 30-pin to lightning adapter (£25-30). Or get one of these eBay little bluetooth modules that can sit in the glovebox.

Does anyone know if the standard iPhone cable charges your phone?? (It was 5/6 months ago when I upgraded and can not remember). It looks like these units need a charging-capable source.

Any advice appreciated.

Many thanks

sounds like you have the Ipod connection kit it will work with a GENUINE Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter sound and charge but
has the quirky playlist set up and plays as if it is a multichanger

I have a Brodit mount for the iP5 I plug into a BMW Y cable via a .2m lightning to 30 pin adapter which then connects to AUX and a USB 12 v charger
Sound comes through AUX on head unit and I can play music and have the sat nav App running at same time

Wegras,

Thanks for the info.

Where is the aux connection? Behind the head unit?

Browsing the brochure, it said it is standard on the M!

it is in the panel that faces down to the ash tray complex and the panel unclips
I hide the cables in there and plug aux cable in via a right angle adapter for neatness
