ConnectedDrive Concierge (Info Plus)

So I use this feature now and then, and really like the fact that while driving I can get someone else to find something for me and send information to the car etc. While on a trip to Mercedes the other day to look at the new e class coupe, I used the info plus to call BMW and have them send me the navigation data for the closest Merc dealer. My mother was in the car at the time, visiting from 'On Yorkshire Way' and was gobsmacked when the woman from BMW started speaking from the cars speakers asking what I wanted etc and then telling me she'd send the data right along. My mother looked at me and said 'and you want to get rid of this car?'. So it made me think that if I was to go into some of the cars I'd looked at recently, Golf, E Class coupe etc, what else is out there? Does anyone know if a service similar to ConnectedDrives concierge/info plus etc exists?

Having looked at Merc, their in car stuff doesn't seem anywhere near as advanced as the BMW stuff. VW don't seem to have it either. Which made me reconsider the move as the ConnectedDrive stuff is really quite good and I use it. Going to another car without it might make me harbour a regret or two.

My mate has a 2 yr old Audi TT with Nav but i dont believe he has these sort of functions though

But Audi's MMI in the TT/A3 is highly backwards in more ways than one.

The Lexus equivalent has had some good reviews too so may be worth looking into one if you feel you're moving towards a middle aged mason member.

Personally given your car/spec looking to chop it in would be the last thing I want to do!

5 series?

I was thinking what's available non BMW tbh. I love the 5 series but after seeing the new e class merc coupe, it blows the 5 series into boring land and while I was tempted I then thought, I wonder what merc has on the iDrive type front, and as it turns out, most seem behind BMW by quite a way...
