intravee, dice, dension?

Aux, fm transmitter?

Swap your head unit out

Take your pick.

For phone calls or music?

Phone - assuming no Bluetooth installed then a Parrot or a Dice

Music - Dice if you are combining a need for Bluetooth with audio capabilities. If you already have Bluetooth and all you are looking for is music then again Dice, or if you have Nav, an Intravee/Alpine combination.

Remember, when ordering these things, its very important to check if u have a dsp amp or not...being a 2005 z4,if u have DSP(CHURCH/JAZZCLUB,ETC),With or WITHOUT NAV,as kit may differ slightly.
Easy to check, look beside battery in boot.

If u do have dsp,then i have a BMW ipod/iphone kit that i had in my previous(2005) z4,which had Digital DSP,if u want that,at a sensible price,
(cost £150 new/supply only).
Apologies for thread hijack,sort of,lol :D

I don't know how anybody actually recommends Dice, if you search around for reviews/comments, it seems that everyone has troubles with them - lots of lockups and need to disconnect/reconnect the thing to "reboot" it. I've got a USA*Spec unit in both my Z4MC and my E46 3er and they're fantastic and 100% reliable. Maybe you can't get them across the pond?

I never had a problem with the Dice in my Z4M. I found it really good.

It's really tiny as well so easy to hide it when installing. I took the carpet off the back of the boot area to uncover the CD changer. Removed the plugs and plugged in the Dice harness. I then ran it through the bulkhead into the cabin using the cubby holes behind the seats. Tucked it under the plastic and down into the centre console, again tucking the wire up between the plastic and carpet. Then I removed the ashtray and hid the Dice in there.

Then I plugged in the Apple cable and ran it up to a Brodit mount on the dash...

If you go with the Dice unit there's a pair of videos on youtube on fitting it. It's really straightforward to do. No cutting of wires etc. Intravee equally easy but two boxes.

The two questions are:
1) Do you have Nav?
2) Do you have DSP?

Otherwise you're good to go

I have DSP, I didn't need to get any additional adapters to get it to work. I think it depends on the year.
