Hi,

I've just joined the forum and have owned my Z4 for a year...in that time it has been hit, caught, scratched, banged and reversed into 6 times!! I'm just off to the garage to pick her up again after the latest incident where she was reversed into by another car, half a note left (no number) and no cameras...does anyone else have this problem? Its like people deliberately hit it or simply don't care.

I live in Cornwall and love my car...especially when the sun is shining and I can zip along next to the sea, but I'm scared to leave her anywhere now!!

Thought I'd find out what happens to everyone else.

Look forward to hearing from you....

yeah ive had a few problems like this! in the last week alone ive found deep scratches to my bonnet and rear boot!

Hi All,

Great to hear from you. Sorry to hear about deep scratches :(

Carol....you have to give me the defensive parking secrets...that sounds like my kind of thing... :happyclap:

Seriously, search 'my kind of parking' in the e85/86 discussion section

Sorry to hear you've not had the greatest experience, but welcome to the forum

You are amongst some of the most paranoid parking people on the 'net. Generally distance from destination is directly related to reducing parking pain... So you'll get fit too !

Hi and welcome :)

Most of us don't like parking to each other at meets because we are so Ansley about it.

Combination of all sorts of factors. The zed has vulnerable panels with no protection, people don't in general care and we tend to notice the minor damage.

As Carol says it's all about parking. Most of us are between careful and paranoid about it and get away damage free.

if i ever take my to the shops ( not often) i WILL park it alone.... those curvey sides are itching to be dented!!

Touch wood (desperately gripping kitchen table!!), I've never had a parking issue but what I do notice is how people's attitude changes towards Z4 drivers compared to other cars. It can be really difficult to get in to queuing traffic from a side road in the zed whereas I have no problems in the e-class or my wife's X1. Equally I've had a few people refuse to give way in the zed when I've had right if way, it's like they've got a point to prove, the sad, sad people!

I've not had this in the Zed. I always had issues in the company 3er though.

What I can't find is the invisible sign that says "tailgate me and drive like a knob" to every chav chariot on the road. It must be red paint, 4 'zorsts and the M badge that they see as a challenge.

Whereabouts in Cornwall are you? I live in Falmouth and haven't had any real issues just a pin sized dent appear on my rear wing which from the hieght looks like a persons door hit it.. Like the others said be paranoid with parking.. It helps!

Not had parking issues but have encountered an 'anti-Z' or maybe anti BMW syndrome. Latest was parking outside the chippie with hood down and getting very very sullen service from behind the counter, which is not normal from the guy but the first time I had used the Z for the chippie run. What he doesn't realise is that his car cost probably 2X more than mine. Sad but probably becoming more frequent in our society.

Its one of those strange facts of life ...
If I park the Z4 ...9 times out of 10, somebody will park really close ..... scarily close
When I park the Jeep, people seem to keep well away .........

height it seems matters .............

I always park the furthest distance away from shops and walk in or if I'm lucky my wife or son who ever comes in the car stay with it while I pop in the shop :D

What a pain in the a**e that is and just before Xmas, a good body shop should be able to get that out with a machine polisher, as long as the panel isn't damaged hope you get it sorted soon

I haven't had my Zed long, but both myself and my wife notice a negative attitude towards the car, from tail gaiters to other vehicles not being courteous at all. I asked my brother who has a 911 as his daily drive about it; after he stopped laughing he explained that it isn't just Z4's, he gets it all the time and adapts his driving accordingly. Be careful out there and don't get sucked into a bad situation! Enjoy your car whatever you drive!
