Confused! When is my first service due?

2011 2.3 highline. The service book doesn't say, it pops up with 12,000miles 8/13 on the dash but I was kind of expecting more of a fanfare about it being over/due?

Its mileage/use based...but it may well be no more than two years, so I would give them a call, however you will definately need a brake fluid change at 2 years

Lol just found it :-----

To be specific, all items have a 70 day or 3106 mile (whichever comes first) overlap.

All items are specific jobs that need to be done but can be combined if they overlap.

You can get to the data from the obc via stick (turn engine on and dont move then service info is available), or get a print out of the fob data from dealer

FIXED TIME i.e. not mile based
1) Brake fluid change 2 years from manufacture and not registration date
2) SS Inspection is MOT so every year from 3rd year of reg THIS IS FIXED but get it done a few weeks before and they will post date it.

Variable time / mile based but will show a date of when its estimated it will need the job done based on how you drive. This was from my new 28i with 800 miles
3) Oil change 18K
4) Vehicle inspection 38K
5) Rear brake check 30K - most likely new pads will be needed my 30i one had 4mm at 28K.
6) Front brake check - 33K front pads possibly will be needed..

The air filter, oil filter, microfilter and spark plugs changed on oil change.

So what you see when you first switch on is a mile and date of one of the above items needing to be looked at.

BE very aware of what is needed, get a keyfob print out so they dont do other work thats not needed, I took my 10 plate in for a brake oil change to be told I had a oil service as well, which had 8K more miles to go The key fob proved this so we came to an agreement.

That's very useful. They told me over the phone it would need oil, but didn't know the mileage. Better get it in for brakes then! Thanks :D
