Condensation In Headlights!! Known Issue?

I recently did an HID conversion and ever since had condensation in the lights.

I dried them out using a hairdryer and drilled some holes in the covers to allow air flow. They stayed good for a few days and now its back with a vengeance. Took another look and I can see inside the light theres a small pool of water inside the bottom part of the headlight.

What do I do?

Is this a known issue?

It really ruins the look of the car.

You've disturbed the seals on the back covers. Common problem is that the degrade and don't seal as well as they did when new.

New back covers needed, or you could try and pull the rubber out a bit and see if that sorts it.

Either way, you need to completely dry out the headlamp first.

at least, I believe that's what I ordered.

Give BMW a ring, quote those numbers and your reg and they'll be able to tell you if they're right for your car ;)

Worst thing you could have done, seal 'em up with clear silicone. Dry out the insides of the headlights, take your time and make sure there's NO damp or water left inside. Best thing would be to remove from the car and keep warm in the house for a few days. Once COMPLETELY dry refit either existing (or better new) rear covers with either silicone grease or vaseline on the seals.

The grease or vaseline will give a complete seal and the problem should go away. Its wot I dun and it worked!! But seal up the hole they wont help!
