Condensation in head light

Been like this a while now.

Going to de-fog the outer lens next weekend,with halfords kit

How do i dry out then stop this happening again first

Dry them by pointing a hairdryer in the back. Buy new seals for the units and maybe stick in a wee moisture sucking bag
 
Chances are though with that much condensation they're probably never going to look that great once dry as they'll likely be all stained and cloudy
 
I used a heat gun on mine from the front, just keep it moving. New covers are about £15 from BMW I believe.
 
Be aware that if you have xenons that the condensate could leak down over the ballast and fry it.
Get it drained quick if so.

I experienced that much condensation a few times and mine dryed out perfectly.

I left the back off mine in the garage for a few days, combined with a few go’s with the hairdryer and a big bag of silica gel left in there for good measure....replaced the back with a new one (15 quid or so from BMW main dealer) and it’s been fine since.... :-)
 
Hi all, also struggling with this problem on one of my headlights. Does anyone know the part number of the left hand (near side) rear door? Did you buy the door and the seal or just the seal from the dealer?

Mom maybe try over loading with salt then sorting gasket seals
 
My driver side headlight went like this the other day. I used a hair dryer to dry it out but the condensation returned soon after turning the lights back on. I found that after removing the washer fluid bottle I could see inside the headlight and there was a small pool of water sitting in the base of the light. Managed to get a bit of paper towel into it to absorb the pool and then used the hairdryer again to clear the condensation. I then took the rubber seal out of the light cover and just turned it around so the newer side was facing out and refitted. Haven't had the condensation return as yet and it has been a couple of weeks.
 
You can also use some silicone grease on the rubber seal which helps a lot and will probably revitalise many of them.

This worked for me and haven't had a problem since :thumbsup:
 
Thinking about this,this issue has started since I had the dodgy light bulbs removed by a DIY guy
Bet they didn’t secure the back up correctly
I haven’t been out in the last 12 months in the dark with
She’s parked in a dry garage but doesn’t dry out it’s always like the pic
 
Hair dryer seems to have dried the light out,although did take a while,long time since i had an hairdryer in my hand,must be 30yrs ago,now just the all round your chops razor :rofl:
