Completely removing headlights on 03 E85

Have to convert my headlights from RHD to LHD and have a set that I need to fit. Haven't managed to find any information on how to do it (everything is for changing the bulbs). Will I have to take off both wings?

You have to drop the front bumper. I'm sure there's a thread about doing this somewhere.

Yep, remove the bumper, wings stay put.

Bumper removal is straightforward, but worth having a few rivets spare for where the wheel arch is separated. Those rivets where the centre pushes in to secure in place.

Only takes 5 mins to remove the front bumper - no need to remove the wings. Lights are held in by 4 bolts. 7 screws along the top of the bumper, 4 rivets on each side holding the arch liner on, a few 8mm screws on the bottom if they are still there. Just be mindful of your foglight wires and headlight washer hoses (if you have them) as the bumper comes off.

However I though most Z4s came with adjustable headlights for switching between RHD and LHD without having to swap the units? I had my lights out a few months back to fix a water issue and found a small metal bracket attached to both dipped beams that you could flip up or down to change the light pattern? Maybe this is only on xenons?

That's true, those levers on xenons change the light pattern so as not to glare oncoming traffic but it's a temporary measure for RHD cars travelling on the continent.
2 options of converting RHD headlights either by buying and replacing complete new LHD headlight units or the cheaper but a more complex option of replacing the xenon internal lenses as I did.
