Could anyone recommend a travel mug or similar that actually fits the cup hiolders in the e85 z4?. I think the holder design is terrible, but maybe if i can find a suitably shaped mug it might work..

You are pushing the arm in to fit the size of the cup aren't you?

Sorry but I can't help with that - I have a pair of Machine Monkey cup-holders that hold most cups/bottles!

Shame he doesn't seem to make them anymore - maybe he needs to be encouraged to re-start that enterprise!

the cup holders are fine imo i've had no issues sticking a range of bottles/cups in them, even manage to keep my pre-match small tins of redbull secure enough

Thought that might be the case :)

Just to be clear you open the holder then click the ratchet arm in a couple of clicks, only then insert the cup. If it's not gripped enough remove the cup and click it another time.
After a couple of goes you'll know the size of you regular drink.

Doesn't work as well if you try to close the arm on the cup.

Mine have never failed me in years of motoring and a whole lot of Costa coffee cups through lots of higher than reasonable G force moves :)

See this

Basically I tried loads. But using the method described in the post above , .....closing the arm a few clicks and then inserting the cup, .......the BP cup is a winner .

I got these, think it worked out 36 for 2 at time
