Comments on price for brakes

I need discs and pads for the rear and have a quote of £480 fitted inl VAT from a stealer. How does that fit with others experience? It looks like I could get OEM discs and pads delivered for about £260 and being a mechanical fool I really don't know how long the fitting would be.
My brake fluid is due in a few weeks so might wait and get the whole lot done together (perhaps with braided hoses dependant if I've got any money left  )

I got a 4-wheel set fitted for about £600 (including labour & shared trade discount on genuine parts from BMW), and I provided the pads myself from an EBC source for marshals (50% off).

Price is too high IMHO. Speak to an Indy or source the parts yourself and have a go, it's not that difficult.

Not sure what model you have but a local Independent quoted me £500 for front & rear brakes / pads (3.0si)

As this is posted in the ///M section, and the poster's signature says they have an ///M, would possibly point to the fact that the parts are required for an ///M :poke: :P

I'll blame my iphone for that one ;-)

Ta, that would explain it. 25% disc at eurocarparts this wknd. Bagged the fronts for £270ish which is a chunk but better that £380
