Commenting on selling prices

Rather then debate this in a specific For Sale thread, I thought I would open the discussion here.

If someone sells a car or a part that is so way out price wise, should you comment or not.

I see two parts here. For the buyer, it could provide the feedback required to be able to (eventually) sell the car / part and therefore not waste days / months in trying to shift something that is just too expensive. For a potential buyer, it is also a warning that something is overpriced. On the other hand, the buyer may not like it.

However, if I was an unsuspecting potential buyer I would appreciate it if I was warned of a price that is too high. Who do you help?

I think you should leave people to it if something is overpriced. If it is, no-one will buy it. If someone buys an overpriced car without doing their research, they deserve to be ripped off.

If however you feel the SELLER should know it's overpriced, then for god's sake, PM them.

I can't see that it gets any more clear cut than that to be honest.
